About Recipe for SuccessMany food entrepreneurs have great ideas and are expert chefs, but have a modest budget. Recipe for Success: HALO Kitchen Incubator provides the space to help those on a tight budget develop their concept. We offer a fully outfitted kitchen open 24 hours a day. The cost to use the kitchen space starts at $12.00 per hour for small business start-ups. Our fees for larger businesses or businesses that have existed for at least 1 year are $25.00 per hour, comparable with other kitchen incubators in the SE Wisconsin/NE Illinois area. We also provide guidance for small start up businesses in getting their kitchen license. This is a necessary component for every business working in our commercial kitchen, from small canning operations to much larger businesses.
The Recipe for Success kitchen is located at HALO Inc., 2000 DeKoven Avenue in the heart of Racine, WI.
HALO is an innovative emergency shelter that coordinates supportive services to help homeless adults become self-sufficient and provides community leadership to prevent chronic homelessness. The income generated from Recipe for Success helps pay for HALO’s programs and facilities. Businesses that work out of the kitchen are encouraged to hire HALO participants as kitchen assistants, giving them valuable training in the culinary arts and opening new career pathways for their future.
